(0:00:01) – The Covenant of Rest (14 Minutes)

Tonight, I’m talking about a covenant that we all have access to, the covenant of rest. I had heard of it before, but I didn’t fully understand until a few weeks ago. I was in the middle of a stressful and busy season, trying to do the impossible– take on all the things and keep going. I started to multitask and then I passed out. I found out later I had a concussion, and it made me realize that I can push myself physically, mentally, and emotionally but when I hit a wall spiritually, I won’t even know it until I crash. God reminded me that I had to abide in the covenant of rest and I’m still learning what that looks like.

(0:14:18) – Understanding the Covenant of Rest (14 Minutes)

Tonight, I’m exploring the book of Hebrews. We look at how Jesus, as the High Priest, has gone to prepare a place for us in His Father’s house. Through the book of Hebrews, we learn that the covenant of rest is a greater covenant than the law and the slavery of the law. We understand how to live above circumstances and situations outside of our control, and how to abide with the Lord and rise up in righteousness, peace, and joy in the midst of trial, trauma, and tribulation. This is an important transitionary generation, learning how to live on earth as it is in heaven, and how to function from a place of covenant rest.

(0:28:16) – Understanding the Covenant of Christ (5 Minutes)

We explore the covenant of rest in the book of Hebrews. We discuss how Jesus, as the High Priest, has gone to prepare a place for us in His Father’s house. Through scripture, we see how Jesus does mighty things and the disciples still don’t get it. We look at the seven-fold spirit of God and how one of these is a spirit of understanding. We examine Hebrews 4 and how God has said multiple times, “If you hear my voice, don’t harden your heart”. We consider our responsibility over our hearts and how if we don’t understand the covenant of Christ, we will fall prey to deafened ears and hardened hearts. Finally, we remind ourselves to say, “Lord, create a new heart, renewal, right spirit in me, do not let me harden.

(0:33:44) – Rest and Trust in Eternal Life (15 Minutes)

I was struggling with time and being able to do all of the things that I wanted to do. I was overwhelmed and anxious. But God reminded me that I have access to eternity – I am eternal. He asked me why I was trying to abide in the mortal when I was created immortal. We have been given access to a greater place of peace and rest. We don’t have to be limited to the anxieties of the earth. We can trust in God’s power over time and death. He has prepared a room for us in the heavenly realms, a place of covenant and rest. We must labor in His rest and trust Him to take away our anxieties, worries, and fears.

(0:48:44) – Bowing to King Jesus (1 Minutes)

I discuss the power of prayer to overcome worry, fear, anxiety, and trauma. I invite you to bow your knee to King Jesus, release your worry and fear, and come to a place of rest in His presence. We can be taken out of the fiery inferno of worldly concerns and abide in Him. Let us come together as a generation and bring healing to our land.

You can push yourself mentally, you can push yourself emotionally, but whenever you hit a wall spiritually and you’re continuing in the flesh, you won’t even know it until you crash. And then he began to teach me what I already thought I knew. Isn’t it funny how he does that? He began to teach me about a covenant that we have access to, called rest. So what I want to share with us tonight is something that I call my now testimony. So a lot of people minister from where they’ve been. They don’t know, a lot of times minister from where they are, and I think it’s important to acknowledge that. We’re in this place where we’re growing from glory to glory, and God’s teaching me something in a season about rest that I honestly don’t think I’ve ever really understood before, and I’m gonna talk to you tonight about the covenant of rest.

About four weeks ago, all the things piled up. My oldest daughter was graduating, she had her prom. My middle daughter was finishing the eighth grade graduation thing and we had recital and recital practice. And I’m working on a book and I’ve got like hard deadlines and it seemed like all in like two days. Everything piled up to the point that it was like I physically did not feel like I could handle all the things. And then, on top of that, my husband’s side of the family and my side of the family decided that they were all gonna come into town and they all needed a place to stay. And we don’t have a small family and in my ability I am like this hardcore driven person I’ve always been able to sit in the place of rest and take stress and kind of like cope with it. I would have told you that I was able to take stress and I don’t respond to it, but I’ve learned that I was coping with it and I could push it back and I could abide in the spirit and I began to cut things out, take things off my plate, right, that were stressing me out these two days. I did not have a choice. I couldn’t take anything off of my plate. I could not press pause. There was nothing that I could remove. It was all good things, it was all God things. And so in my hardcore grit and barrette, I got up and said, okay, I’m not gonna tell my parents they can’t come stay at my house. That’s just not cool, can’t do that. I’m gonna grit and barrette, I’m gonna get the upstairs of the house cleaned and then have a place for everybody to stay and we’re gonna throw the kids all in the floor on mattresses. I’m gonna do the thing. And so I started moving fast, working hard, doing the thing, and I was multitasking.

Women, you know how this goes. You’re like doing 12 things at once. You grow extra arms. All of a sudden I’m multitasking. I’m throwing something in the trash, I’m fluffing the pillows on the bench as I’m twisting to turn to go back and wipe something on the countertop. And I stood up and I hit my head and hit the floor and I was home alone and as I’m falling listen, if you guys know me like I work out and athletic I do all the things. As I’m falling, I’m going, I have no control over this. I have no control over this Boom. I could not stop myself from hitting the floor and I got knocked out. I come to 15, 20 seconds later, I’ve got blood running down on my hand. Well, right before hit the floor, I’m multitasking.

One of the 12 things I was doing was messaging my sister in law, and so as soon as I got up, I’m like I just hit my head. I got knocked out. I’m okay, we still got to do what we got to do. You know that was my response. Okay, I’m telling you all this for a reason. So I hit it hard.

The rest of the day, I did what I needed to do, got to the recital, sat down and the Lord speaks to me and he says this to me. He says you know how to rest, but you do not know how to abide in my covenant rest. And I was immediately convicted because, in the midst of all this, my character was wanting to fall too. Right, I’m getting annoyed by things don’t typically get annoyed with. I am I’m not responding the way that I would typically respond.

I get into the um, into the recital, and like all the seats are taken and there’s not enough seats for me and my family, and I’m getting into that like self righteous Christian mode, right, like we need seats and that’s not my typical character. And as it’s happening, bothering me, I’m like Lord, this is not me. And soon as I sat down, that’s what he said to me fast forward the next day. Um, I get up to get the girls ready to go. I think we had to go somewhere Get the girls ready. And I was up for 15 minutes and I sat down and I passed out and I slept for six hours and it scared me and I found out I had a concussion.

And in that process the Lord taught me you can push yourself physically, you can push yourself mentally, you can push yourself emotionally, but whenever you hit a wall spiritually and you get a concussion and you’re feeling like you’re going to be in a concussion, you’re going to be in a concussion. And then he began to teach me what I already thought I knew, and it funny how he does that. He began to teach me about a covenant that we have access to, called rest, and it’s not lack of, it’s not a lack of doing things, it’s not a lack of pain, it’s not the absence of activity, it’s a dwelling place, it’s a realm that we’re supposed to live in. And tonight I want to give you keys, and I have gone in and out of this. I’m going to tell you that this is what bothered me so much.

I’ve gone in and out of this revelation for years. I’ve learned in seasons how to abide in this place and I’ve seen God do signs of wonders and miracles when I’m abiding there, because it’s not about me, it’s about covenant with Him. But then I’ve gone out of those seasons because I have a natural bend towards being a doer. Even though I’m a Mary, I also have a lot of Martha in me and that natural bend towards being a doer will sometimes take over and I think that I’m still in rest, but I’ve actually began to get in the flesh.

And so I want to tell you this this covenant rest that we have with Him is the Ephesians 2, 6 seat. So we’re going to look at that a little bit closer. But Ephesians 2, 6 says that we’re seated with Him in heavenly places. So that seat that we sit in is above, whereas he seated above the principalities, pillars, rulers of darkness of this present age. He’s seated above those things. He’s seated in the place where we’re casting our crowns in our song right. That’s where he’s seated. It’s also where we’ve been given access to sit down with Him in this covenant, and from that place we are above the fleshly warfare as well, as we’re above demonic warfare, and I’ve talked on that before. But this is another level. And so if we can learn how to sit there, we also learn how to access oil, we learn how to access anointing, because we’re learning that he is the branch, he is the anointing, he is the oil, he is the one that brings forth signs, wonders, miracles, all of these things out of the place of covenant.

And our covenant with Him is abiding in Him. What does he say? Abide in me, and I knew, and you’ll bear much fruit. Without me You’ll do nothing, you can’t do anything. And so if we begin to connect these dots and these understandings, then we begin to understand that it’s actually a realm that we’re invited into. It’s not necessarily a knowledge, it’s an understanding of the knowledge of God, but it’s an access to a realm outside of this dirt that we live in.

And so if you think about realms of the spirit, you can think about the center realm. You’ve heard first, second, third heaven right, we’ve heard of that, but I think about it more like a circle. So the center is the throne of God, and that’s the third heaven, it’s the heavenly realm where he seated. The next outside layer of that may be like the spiritual warfare, the angelic angels, demons, the functionality of all of that, and then the outside layer would be the crust of the earth. So it’s like where we sit, we are created for dominion in the earth, but in our fall, in man’s fall we stepped out of the place of covenant rest, right, adam and Eve had dominion in rest. They had dominion over everything, including the lives of the enemy. But they fail. They had dominion over everything in the covenant with Him.

In that place of walking with Him. It says that they walk with Him in the cool of the day. That word in Genesis, where it says they walk with Him in the cool of the day in the garden, is not talking about temperature, is talking about ruach. They walk with Him in the ruach, the breath of the day. They walk with Him in the spirit, and so they lived in the realm of the spirit while they were on the earth, and so the hindrance to that was sin. That’s where they fell away, that’s where death entered. So what happened? They didn’t physically die that moment, they spiritually died and the death process began. What came with the death process? Fear, anxiety, worry, knowledge of evil. Right, it wasn’t just the knowledge of good, it was the knowledge of evil. So they took of the knowledge of evil and they stepped out of the breath, they stepped out of the place of dwelling in the realm of God, both in heaven and in earth. So they were, they dwelt in both places at once.

So if you look at scripture, when you approach scripture, always approach scripture with original intention in mind. And so the original intention of God for man was to abide in Him and he in us, and for us to rule and reign, yes, in this dirt called the earth, from intimacy with Him, in the spirit. And so when I say realms, I’m talking about realms of the spirit. I’m talking about this also being that what we can taste here, here, touch, see with our physical senses, you also have spiritual senses. So, real quick, let’s look at, before we go fully into the rest, I want us to look at Ephesians two, and again during worship, I might, lord, I feel I don’t like to preach out of the place, that I feel like I’m just tapping into this Again. I’ve been in and out of it for years, but it’s like I feel like I’ve finally learned how to sit in it, like the inner peace is incredible.

So, ephesians two, six you were dead in the trespasses and sins. Sorry, I’ve started with verse one. You were dead in the trespasses of sins in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience. Now pay attention to that Among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body, the mind, and were, by nature, children of wrath like the rest of mankind. So stop there. Before we get to the seated place, so where we were, where we abide outside of covenant, outside of him, we get or given over to the nature of the flesh, the fallen nature.

This specifically talks about carrying out the passions and the desires of the flesh, but it’s the body, the mind and the nature of the children of wrath. Specifically, it’s living in the dirt and responding to the dirt without heavenly reality. That’s what he’s talking about. So this is what we’ve been born again or removed from. We used to be enslaved to the world and its desires and Satan, the prince of the power of the air. But God, being rich in mercy because of the great love with which he loved us even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together in Christ. By grace, you’ve been saved and raised us up with him and seated us with him in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.

So when we look at Hebrews three and four, we’re gonna look at the covenant of rest. I want you to remember, when it’s talking about Jesus as the high priest, that Jesus is seated in heavenly realms and he still has full authority and all of his work has been finished. And while you were still dead, while you were still unrestful, while you were still full of anxiety, while you were still given over to your flesh, he made a place for us. He said I’ve gone to prepare a place for you in my father’s house. There are many rooms and if this were not so, I wouldn’t have told you. He went. And he prepared a place for us while we were still sinners, because there was a greater covenant for us.

If you understand the book of Hebrews, it’s written to the fill in the blank Hebrews. They were literally the Hebrew people. Okay, so they understood old covenant, they understood the law, they understood the slavery of the law, they understood how they couldn’t fulfill it. And when we’re reading this covenant in just a minute, we’re gonna understand that he’s prepared a place for us that is in a covenant of rest, not under the yoke of slavery, not just to the law, but to the flesh. We’re not enslaved to the world, its passions, its desires or our own natural carnal tendency towards anxiety, worry, fear, rebellion, sickness, disease all of these things are encompassed in this truth. So this is how A it teaches us to pray. B it teaches us how to abide. And it teaches us also how to rise above circumstances and situations that are outside of our control, which is what most of our struggle is.

I didn’t know I had such a hard time rising outside of situations and circumstances that were outside of my control. I’ve never thought that I was that person until 35,000 things piled up on my plate all in one day and I couldn’t do anything about it, and I wanted to honestly, just go get in my hot tub and hide under the water and baptize myself about 12 times. I’m just being real. That was my day. I was like I just need to. I need to get baptized. He’s calling us to enter into this place Now.

I also want to tell you prophetically where we are. We are coming out. We’re a transitionary generation. Okay, so we’re transitioning. Every generation brings us closer to the return of the Lord. When Jesus returns and he sets up his millennial kingdom, what do you think people? How do you think people are gonna function? Are they gonna function from anxiety, worry, fear. Are they gonna function from constant punch in the air, warfaring, fighting Satan? No, they’re gonna function from this place of covenant rest. And so we’re this transitionary generation where we’re learning now on earth, as it is in heaven. We get to learn how to abide with him, and so it’s not all floating on clouds, it’s actually learning how to handle what’s going to come at us and have righteousness, peace and joy in the midst of trial, trauma and tribulation. Okay, are you following me? So learning how to live here is so important.

So if you look at I’m not gonna try to go in all of Hebrews three and four, but if you look at that all in context, it’s so important. So Hebrews three is talking about Jesus is the high priest. It’s talking to the Hebrews. He’s talking to the Hebrews who understand the priesthood. They understood that a high priest would come and serve in the temple, he would go in and he would make atonement. They understood these things. They understood that Moses and the Israelites were wandering in the wilderness. He’s going into that. He’s talking to them about the fact that the Israelites did not get to enter into the promise and the rest because of their unbelief. So I basically just summed up Hebrews three for you. So I’m gonna look at. We’re gonna kind of skip around just a little bit here because it’s important.

But covenant rest equals priesthood. Okay, listen to that. Covenant rest equals priesthood. Jesus is the high priest. We’re seated with him as priest in Kings. It says in 1 Peter we are a royal priesthood, we’re a holy nation, we’re God’s own possession. And so when we look at covenant rest, we have to also understand who we are in covenant with Christ, as priests and kings who are able to sit with him, hear what he’s saying, do what he’s doing and bring his will. How did he say pray, your kingdom come, your will be done on the earth as it is in heaven. These are all very spiritual principles. They’re not just head knowledge.

I grew up Methodist. We quoted the Lord’s prayer every single week monotonously. But there’s power in it and it’s not just talking about you saying his kingdom come. He’s talking about you sitting with him as a priest and a king, as a son and a daughter, to be able to restore what Adam and Eve lost back to the earth as it is in heaven. But if we don’t understand covenant rest, we will continuously war with the anxieties, worries, fears and circumstances around us. So it says let’s just do Hebrews seven I mean sorry, hebrews three versus seven.

Therefore, just as the Holy spirit says today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as when they provoked me, as in the day of trial and the wilderness where your fathers tried me by testing me and saw my works for 40 years. Therefore, I was angry with this generation and said they always go astray in their heart. They did not know my ways and I swore in wrath they will not enter my rest. The heading in my Bible says that peril of unbelief. Take care, brethren, that there are not, there’s not any evil in you. Believe sorry, take care, brethren, that there not be any one of you an evil, unbelieving heart that falls away from the living God, but be encouraged. But encourage one another day after day. Skip down just a little bit Verse 14,. For we have become partakers of Christ until we hold fast the beginning of our assurance firm until the end.

While it is said today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as when they provoked me. For who provoked them? When they had heard? Indeed, did not all those who came out of Egypt led by Moses? And with whom was he angry for 40 years? And was it not those who sinned, whose bodies fell in the wilderness? And whom did he swear that they would not enter his rest, but those who were disobedient? So we see that they were not able to enter because of unbelief. Remember when the scriptures were written? They were not breaks in the chapters.

Go to chapter four, verse one. Therefore, anytime you see it there for in scripture, always look above, look at the scriptures before it. Therefore, let us fear, if the promise remains of entering his rest, any one of you may seem to have come short of it. For indeed, we have the good news preached to us, just as they did also, but the word they heard they did not profit them because it was not united with faith with those who heard. For we who have believed entered that rest, just as he has said Paul’s listen, I want you to hear the language. We who believed can enter, entered. This is so important, just as he has said. It is so important. Two things Ephesians two we are seated. Hebrews four three we have entered. What did Jesus say on the cross To telesteye? It is finished. So there is a finished work in covenant with Christ, that we have been seated in and that we have entered.

What’s the problem? Why and I asked the Lord this on the way here, I was like Lord what was the problem with the Israelites? Why was it such a harsh judgment that they could not enter the rest that was promised them? And of course we see it there in scripture. It says because of their unbelief. But the Lord also said to me he said it wasn’t just because they didn’t believe. He said it’s because they could not get unbelief out of them.

Despite his cloud by day and fire by night, despite the thundering voice on the mountain, despite the law that was given to them and the second opportunity, they continuously came back into the place of a lack of trust. They did not trust Yahweh. Who was Yahweh revealed to Moses? As Do you remember, I am. So what is I am? I am that I am. I am everything you need, at any place and time. I will be fire for you, I will be a cloud for you, I will be provision for you, I will be health to you. I will be everything you need. But at the same time, they could not get the unbelief out of their DNA. So, while Moses is on the mountain. They’re creating idols because they have a better control over something that they can make themselves, something that looked like the past, something that looked like the earth. Then they could control the circumstances of fire and lightning and thundering, and a voice that came from heaven saying I am your father.

The lack of belief wasn’t just they couldn’t believe it’s, they couldn’t receive and trust that he was indeed and is I am. Are you following me? It’s as simple as believing. See, we have such a struggle, especially in American culture. We want everything to be logical, we want everything to make sense and unfortunately, that’s what leads us to build golden calves, something that, listen. They took all the provision given to them, egypt, through all the gold, all the things, and just threw it out of them and told them to get out. They’d been in bondage for 400 years. I was telling my daughter this morning that’s longer than our nations and existed.

And if you look at the state of our nation, we’re no different. We quickly become the wicked and unbelieving generation that seeks after a son. You see, unbelief will cause you to say no, I don’t believe that you’re the Messiah unless you prove it to me again and again and again. It’s not about signs, wonders and miracles. He will manifest himself with signs and wonders and miracles If you believe he is Messiah, because he wants to use you to bring healing to the earth. But the wicked and perverse generation is still so stuck in unbelief that it’s a scoffing hardness of heart that says I will not believe you are the I am until you do something for me again. But then again is not good enough. I need you to do something else for me. And it’s not about being healed, delivered and set free. It’s about you prove to me who you are again. It’s the scoffing, it’s the scoffing heart. That’s the unbelieving heart. Do you know?

Elsewhere in scripture it also says, when the disciples went out to heal the sick and bring deliverance, that there was a situation where they could not bring deliverance and the boy was brought to Jesus and Jesus’s response was these only come out by prayer and fasting. Right, they ask, why could we cast it out? These only come out by prayer and fasting. I believe fully that he was talking about. These only come out whenever you set yourself apart and you get delivered of your unbelief.

Because, over and over throughout scripture, jesus does mighty things and the disciples still don’t get it. They’re over and over again saying like whenever he calms the waves, most people don’t realize. When he’s in the boat and he calms the waves, he just fed the 5,000, like 15 minutes ago, and he’s like you didn’t understand the miracle of the loaves and the fishes. So he says to them peace, be still. You still didn’t understand. So we’ve got to begin to ask him for understanding. We’ve got to listen. If I had time I would totally go into the seven fold spirit of God and be begging God to let me teach all that. I just can’t seem to do it. But the five, the seven fold spirit of God, one of those is a spirit of understanding. So we can’t just get revelation, we got to get understanding. Ask him for understanding, I want to understand. That’s the spirit of revelation. By the way, understanding is revealing, it’s unveiling, it’s unfolding it to you.

So if you go on and continue to read, I’m just going to read a little bit more in Hebrews four. So the word that they heard didn’t profit them because they didn’t have faith, for we who have believed have entered that rest, just as he has said. As I swore in my wrath, they shall not enter my rest, although his works were finished from the foundation of the world. For he has said somewhere concerning the seventh day, and God rested on the seventh day from all his works. And again in this passage, they shall not enter my rest. Therefore, since it remains for some to enter it and those who formerly had good news preached to them failed to enter because of disobedience, he again fixes a certain day today, saying through David, after a long time, just as he has said before, if you hear his voice, do not harden your arms. Just think about that. I’m going to keep reading how many times. I want you to count how many times he said that If you hear my voice, don’t harden your heart, for if Joshua had given them rest, he would not have spoken of another day after that. So there remains a Sabbath rest for people, for the people of God, for the one who has entered his rest and has himself also rested from his works, as God did from his. So let us be diligent to enter that rest so that no one will fall through following the same example of disobedience.

Verse 12,. We quote this out of content text all the time, for the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword dividing soul and spirit, both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart, and there is no creature hidden from his sight, but all things are open and laid bare to the eyes of him. Who we have to do? Therefore, since we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast to our confession. He talks about the High Priest who can sympathize with our weakness. Verse 16 says therefore, draw near with confidence to the throne of grace that we can receive mercy and find grace in the time of need. It is so important.

He, over and over and over again, says if you hear my voice, don’t harden your heart. If you hear my voice, don’t harden your heart. If you hear my voice, don’t harden your heart. He’s quoting the Old Testament. He’s quoting the Scriptures. I’ve called it the word that had gone forth to the Israelites. In every generation, god raises up messengers. In every generation, I promise you, if you go back and look through history, god always raises up voices. That will be his voice that will call us back to attention, call us back to repentance and to revelation of the covenant of Christ in every generation. He’s saying to this generation again if you hear my voice, don’t harden your heart.

That says to me that I have some kind of responsibility over my heart and, whether or not it gets hardened, I always have to point the finger back here. Here’s the problem. Whenever it comes to circumstances and anxieties and fears, we cannot control those things. If we do not understand, if we have unbelief and do not gain understanding in the covenant of Christ that we have and the place in which we sit, then we will fall prey to deafened ears and hardened hearts Because we will point the finger instead of at me. We will either point it at him or at them, and so, therefore, our heart will become hardened and it will become calloused Instead of saying Lord, create a new heart, renewal, right spirit in me, do not let me harden. My heart Calls me to come out of unbelief. I need to sit with you in heavenly places and abide with you, where I can rise above the circumstances.

He also says that there was a greater rest than even the Sabbath day, which is what they would have known as Hebrews being Shabbat, being the holy place of rest and peace. Shabbat means be still. Do you know that? That’s what it means. That’s what the Hebrew word for Sabbath means literally stop, and what he’s saying there is. There is a greater revelation than you just stopping all of your work. There’s more, and this is the invitation. There’s more, there’s always more, and what he’s saying is now you have access to the throne of God, where literally everything that is filled with with flesh, demonic activity and anxiety, has to stop, because you have a covenant that is so far beyond this world. You have been given access to eternity. You are actually your spirit. Man is in eternity. Did you know that you are eternal? If you are in Christ, you are eternal, not eternal later, eternal now.

But the problem is we always want to go back to the mortal. We still believe more in the mortal than we do the immortal. We believe more in the anxiety and what we see and feel around us than asking God to cause that old immortality to die with Christ. Daily I’m going to pick up my cross. That old mortality is dying with Christ Think about baptism and it’s being resurrected, and immortality, which means I am not limited to the anxieties of this earth.

But the point, your problem was time. You didn’t have enough time, and he was pointing out to me. I kept saying I don’t have time, I don’t have enough time, I don’t have it. It kept coming out of me. Lord, I don’t know how to do all this, I don’t have enough time. They’re on the way. I don’t have enough time. I got to get here, here and here all at the same time. I don’t have time, lord. How am I going to end? It was all about time. And do you know what he said to me? You are eternal, I am eternal, I live in time. Why are you trying to abide in the mortal when I created you? Immortal? It’s a different realm. It’s what Jesus won for us. It’s the greater place of rest. And so, if I don’t have to worry about time, if I know that he’s the Lord of time, he is both the Alpha and the Omega, somehow all at the same time. He is forever existed, yet he’s still Alpha and Omega. But we don’t believe that he can literally speak and everything will be still. And so, as I sat there trying to watch a dance, the Lord’s talking to me, he’s giving me a minor spanking and he’s inviting me into a covenant that I already have. God, like literal eternal rest.

If we could get this, we would also understand that death is a lie for the unbeliever. What is the greatest fear that everyone has? Death, right, terrified, don’t want it. It’s terrifying, it’s terrible. If something would happen to my kids, I don’t know what happened. We’ve been faced with that. Right, we got a miracle, but death is our greatest fear.

But if death is not true, if it’s only a shadow for the unbeliever, do we believe the gospel? If we believe the gospel, then Jesus took the sting of death and then perfect love drives out all fear, because fear has to do with torment. Then if we’re delivered from death and we live eternal life, then we’re also delivered from fear of death because we’re already in eternal life. Therefore, time itself, god, can do whatever he wants to with it If we’ll only trust him. And so even death itself cannot cause us to tremble.

I’m just re-preaching the gospel. This is our covenant, and so when we pray, it says do not pray as the Gentiles that they will be heard from many words, but go into your inner room and shut the door and pray to your father, who is in secret. He will hear you. I believe there’s a greater meaning to that. It means we don’t pray for the purpose of being heard by man, but for our many words and our many anxieties and our many fears. How many of us just pray from anxiety and pray from fear and pray from worry? How often do we pray from that place and we just go on and on and on and worry. He’s saying no, in my father’s house there are many rooms and if you had, I wouldn’t have told you this, if it weren’t true. He’s saying will you come into the room with me? I believe this is a greater thing than just going into private. It’s going into the realm where you’re called to sit in covenant, rest with him and your father, who is in secret, will hear you and he already knows what you need before you even pray it. But you only have to believe it. As long as we’re in anxiety, we’re babbling, babbling, babbling, frustrating, angry, frustrated, angry. And he loves us coming to him. He loves when we’re real to him, will listen. I get real with God. But what he’s saying is if you will, there’s a room for you. There’s a room for you in the heavenly realms when anxiety, fear and worry, circumstance, all these things literally have to stop. But it’s also says that we have to labor in his rest. What does that mean? That means we have to work at not working so hard in this realm. We have to change the way we work.

I wasn’t even going to tell anybody, but I drove. We were at the beach. I was at the beach today. I drove five hours. I’m driving five hours back, but I have no anxiety to worry. I’m supposed to be here right now. And I said I told my daughter this morning. I said it doesn’t concern me. Time means nothing to God. All we do is like he’s.

It says that all of our days were written in his book before one ever came to be. I think a Psalm 127. All of my days were written in your book before one ever came to be. So if I actually believe that he has all of my days written in his book before one ever came to be, he knows the worries, the fears, the trials, the anxieties. He knows what’s going to come at me. He also knows that if I will just ask him what is in his scroll, what is in his book for me today, and I’ll just do that and trust him that he’ll take care of everything else, why does it tell us don’t worry. Why does it tell us, don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow has enough worries? We’re just like, yeah, I know that scripture, but oh my gosh, I’m so worried about tomorrow Because we don’t understand that it’s another room, it’s a different place we go.

We can’t get there from here. We have to get there from here to get there from covenant. We’ve got to change them. We’ve changed the way we’re coming and I’ve been like I said I’ve been in and out of this for several years. But since he said this to me, since he reached in and spanked my behind, it’s been like everything’s stopped and I’m in a season of my own personal life. Right now.

My kids are like growing up, their job of things are changing and graduation and college, and like so much wants to breathe, worry at me, so much wants to make me question whether or not I’ve parented well. Have I done well? Are they going to be okay or is the world going to get them? But then he begins to say no, but they’ve got. All their days are written in the book before whenever came to be.

And I send my messengers, I send my angels to attend to your children, to bring forth their, the will of God in their life. It’s just believing. And so when we come to him praying, let’s believe what we’re asking him. So Matthew 13, 21 to 23. This is the parable it says. But since he has no root, he remains only for a season.

When trouble and persecution comes because of the word, he quickly falls away. And in verse 22, the seed song among the thorns is the one who hears the word, but worries of this life and deceitfulness of wealth choke out the word and it becomes unfruitful. The worries of this world will choke this word out of you, not just what I’m speaking, but the revelation that comes. We so quickly can hear something like this, but if we don’t begin to pray it into ourselves, do you know that you need to pray for yourself? Put your hand on your own head and prophesy over yourself. Call out the word of God in yourself. That’s one of the most powerful things I ever learned. For years I used to go to all these powerful conferences and now I speak at some of them, but I don’t feel like I need a word. I need a word. I need a word. I need a word. I’m like bet me Now. It’s like don’t give me no word. I got words, he’s got. I got plenty of them, but I learned how to put my hand on my own head and call out him and me.

You take the word and you call it forth in yourself to learn how to abide in his rest. Simply doesn’t mean stopping everything. You can’t stop everything. You won’t be able to stop it. But if you can take yourself and quote Ephesians 2 6 and study into Hebrews 3 and 4 and begin to take the word and root it deeply in you and ask him do you know what repent means? It means change your mind. It means change the way you think of it. Begin to repent for the way you thought before and ask him to renew your mind every day. That’s how you labor into the rest. You work out of coming out of the flesh into the spirit. It says if you abide in the spirit, you will not be given to the desires of the flesh. So begin to pray. Lord, help me to sit in your presence, stay in your spirit.

Today a particular situation happened to me. One of my hardest things is like I actually reap a generational anxiety thing Okay, without going into details and this thing tries to come at me, all this anxiety from another person, and that is the hardest one, especially when it’s people close to you. All this tries to come at me from another person and that usually would have caused me to feel like I need to kind of help fix this person Right. I need to fix it, I need to stop it, I need to cause the bubble up to go down. And the Lord was like no, you live in the world, but not of it. You can live in this realm, but not of it. And immediately, even as this person was coming at me saying things worries, fears, all the things I literally closed my eyes and I am seated with you in heavenly places. I am in the world and not of it. I am not of it, I am not in this realm, I am not in this anxiety realm. I am seated with you. And as soon as I sat there, peace washed over me and God gave me peace. God gave me perfect words to say, and that particular situation melted like wax Because His words came out of my mouth, not because I responded with anxiety to anxiety. I responded to anxiety with the word of the Lord.

So we’re all learning this together and it’s beautiful, it’s powerful. He’s transitioning in gusts, he’s using us as transitionary people from one generation to the next. We must teach this generation how to come out of anxiety. How many of you on Instagram? This generation takes the word anxiety and wears it like a badge?

We must teach this generation how to abide in the spirit and, yes, a lot of us struggle with it. It comes at us, it is a spiritual thing, it is. It’s demonic. It is demonic, but as the day comes closer to the end of the age, we must learn how to come out of all of that. What does it say in Jeremiah 29? If you can’t run with the footmen, how are you going to run with the horses? The horses are coming. We can’t stop them, but we can rise above them. How do you think people handle persecution? They rise, they rise, they go up.

So, lord, I’m just going to pray us out. Lord, I just thank you that you are giving us a covenant. You have given us a covenant with you called rest. The blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony causes us to abide with you in a place that is not of this world. We’re literally not of this world, and right now I just speak out over those that are watching online, over those that are in the room. Peace be still.

I speak to anxiety, fear, worry, circumstantial concern and I say get out. Bow, bow to the knee, bow your knee to Jesus. King Jesus, one day every knee will bow and every tongue will confess and I just speak that right now. King Jesus is greater than worry, fear, anxiety, concern, trauma and Jesus name. Lord, I just pray right now that you would take us as a generation and pluck us out, like Zachariah 3. Pluck us out of this fiery inferno that says everything around us should be worshiped, everything but you. Fear and worry and anxiety should even be worshiped greater than you. Pluck us out, rebuke the accuser and set us in a place where we can abide in you and bring healing to our land. In Jesus name.

I would say that we have to have when we’re studying the Word of God on any topic. We have to have the discernment to be able to distinguish between a universal principle in the Word of God versus a specific situation that needed to be corrected.

0:00:23 – Tammie Southerland
Hi and welcome back to The Burning Messengers. We have a powerful show for you. If you’re a woman and you’ve ever had a desire to serve the Lord in any capacity of ministry, you need to stay with us. Through this whole entire interview, we’re gonna talk about some of the difficult questions. We’re gonna talk about what it is that causes women to maybe pull back and not step out into their God-given call. My guest today is her name is Dr Jamie Morgan, and she has written a powerful book called Her Calling Jamie. Thank you so much for joining me on this show. Your message is so vital right now for women and I can’t wait for you to share and really stoke the fire in the hearts of those women that are listening today and the guys that wanna understand how to get behind their girls, how to get behind their wives and their daughters to step into their calling. So, jamie, thank you so much for being here.

0:01:18 – Jaime Morgan
Tammy, thank you so much for having me, and I honor you, you mighty woman of God. I thank you for everything you do for the Lord, and thank you for allowing me to be on your show today.

0:01:30 – Tammie Southerland
Absolutely, guys. Jamie and I connected at a conference that was really multifaceted. It was communicators, and some of them were spirit-filled girls and some of them weren’t Some of them really. Honestly. Jamie may not really understood fully their calling, but Jamie and I ended up sitting at the table beside each other and it was like fireworks.

You know and so thankful that I got to be there because it’s like you know, jamie, when I met you, i was like man, this is a woman after my own heart Like her heart is burning in the same way as mine, and first thing I thought is we need women like this, to call women in my age group and younger out, and that’s what you do, like you’re a trailblazer. You have a ministry called Trailblazers, and so I’m excited to hear more about that. But what really put that? what was that for you? What put that on your heart to really set the stage to blaze the trail for women and it’s mentoring right. So, like, what started that in you?

0:02:34 – Jaime Morgan
So what happened was I have stood in a lot of different ministry roles. I have been a teacher of the word, an evangelist. I was a senior pastor for 15 years and the last two years that I was a senior pastor I could feel the grace lifting to pastor, and you know, we know, that what we do is only by the grace of God, like for sure, for sure, for sure.

But when the grace begins to lift, like you know, it’s only by the grace of God And at the same time that grace was lifting to pastor a local church, another grace was descending And for a while I was like God what are you doing? What are you calling me to do? What is the new? I knew that my departure as senior pastor was on the horizon, but didn’t know what the next season was gonna look like, and I always describe it like I felt like I was tumbling down Niagara Falls in a barrel, not knowing which end was up.

Transition in ministry can be very hard. Our lives are lived in seasons and there’s a reason for every season in transition. The whole way of transition connects those seasons. So one day, tammy, i was again, once again God, what are you doing? What is the new? And God gave me, he encountered me with my call for this season and, until I take my last breath, through a vision. And in the vision I saw a harvest field And it was a harvest field Like.

We’ve all seen pictures of harvest fields. We even may have them hanging in our office or our homes. This was the most beautiful harvest field I had ever seen. It was lush, it was lavish, it was ripe and it went on as far as the eye could see. And then part two of the vision God zoomed in. It’s like you can zoom in with your video camera, your camera phone, and I saw a specific harvest field. And in this harvest field, in this part two of the vision, i see, tammy, these round black discs, intermittently placed in the harvest, in the harvest field, and I said, god, what are they? They were about the size of a baseball base and they were every so often. And the Lord said those are placeholders.

0:04:57 – Tammie Southerland
That.

0:04:57 – Jaime Morgan
I placed in the harvest field before the foundation of the world, and he said they are reserved for laborers. And he said, and I could, tammy, you know how, when God imparts his heart to you, you can just feel. I could feel the grief in God’s heart. And the Lord said to me. he said, and as you can see, most of the placeholders reserved for those for laborers remain vacant. Wow. And then he spoke these words to me.

He said there is an urgency of the hour. And he said I need all hands on deck, both male as well as female. And then he gave me my mandate. He said I have called you to identify, gather, mobilize and mentor Women called to the ministry to take their place in the end time harvest of souls, in whatever their area of ministry specialization is. And we’re, all you know, we’re all so different in what God has called us to do, whether it’s behind the pulpit or it’s to raise up an online ministry or to raise up a marketplace ministry, the women I mentor. their callings are so varied and different from each other.

And so I was like, wow, God, that wasn’t. Honestly. I I’ve always, I’ve always been comfortable working with men. To be honest with you.

0:06:30 – Tammie Southerland
A lot of us feel that way. It’s funny.

0:06:32 – Jaime Morgan
I was in corporate America And so I was, like many times, the only woman in the boardroom. And then, as a senior pastor, i went to minister meetings and I was usually well, i was the first Female senior pastor in my denomination and the is that was a God in the state of New Jersey, and so I was always the only woman and I said really, god? and he said yeah, he’s, and he was like, he imparted to me the urgency of the hour And so I said yes, lord, to your will and to your way.

0:07:03 – Tammie Southerland
And that’s when I planned my departure from the church and I began planning Trailblazer mentoring network to mentor women called to the ministry So powerful, and the funny thing about that is is I’ve heard this story so many times, or recently was in an interview with the Haviland Ford. You know it’s a similar conversation. I, you know, never thought God was gonna call me into women’s ministry and here I am. You know, it seems to be something that the Lord’s doing right now, with powerful women Who are already in ministry and pivoting us back towards, looking at one another and saying, listen, it’s time to mentor, it’s time to raise up and it’s time to send out, and and he’s got his eye on his daughters, and so it’s such a beautiful, powerful thing.

I love the imagery of the harvest field and the placeholders, and that’s one of the reasons you wrote this book is to bring women into the place, to knowing that they are called. But you know, it seems like there’s an issue with the, i guess, a belief system of if we are called, you know, how do we walk in it? or, and are we really called? There’s so many scriptures that we feel like are used to say women aren’t supposed to be in ministry. Jamie, how do you respond to that kind of question? And you know what’s your desire, especially with writing your book and mentoring women to get them past that stronghold.

0:08:29 – Jaime Morgan
Yeah, that is such a good question. Those scriptures and first Corinthians and first Timothy are used by Naysayers, critics, opposers to women in ministry, and they hurl those two scriptures at us like stones To try to stone us to death. So that we will, yeah, with with the intention that we will not answer our call. And To that I say first of all, every woman called to the ministry needs to develop her own personal Theology of women in ministry. Like, if you don’t have that, i agree, if you don’t have that deep in your heart, you will always have some type of hesitancy or tentativeness. Or, you know, if, like, if you don’t know, then then the people around you aren’t going to be sure. And so that’s step one, not for anybody else other than you, really. And then having the discernment to know When to answer the critics and when not to mm-hmm, because there are some people that will ask the word

really Yeah, they really like, they really want to know. Like they, maybe they would grew up in a maybe a Calvinistic type church setting that did not allow women to answer the call of God in their lives and and maybe they’re genuinely wanting to know like, show me the scriptures and So you know, in those cases where I’m discerning, the person’s heart really wants to know, i will sit down with them and have a Bible study and show them. We take the full counsel of God Into consideration when developing, when developing our, our doctrinal belief system, not just pulling two scriptures out and basing our entire theology on that.

Yes so And and the other. But most people that that ask are really Oh, how can I say this? They just want to argue. They want to argue for the sake of arguing, that’s true. And so my response, my response to them is you know what You sit down and argue like with yourself and I’m gonna go out and win souls. That’s so good because, honestly, like I tell people They think that they’re theologians, they’re like they hurl those two scriptures that I mentioned earlier at us and it’s, it’s like this. It’s like going to the famous amusement park. Okay, you go to the famous amusement park and you only visit the hot dog stand and stroller rental. And then you come home from your vacation at that famous amusement park and you say, oh, i know that amusement park inside and out And I’m an expert in all things. Famous amusement park. That’s what it’s like when you pull those two scriptures out and to try to use it against women of God.

0:11:22 – Tammie Southerland
Yep, and this is a question that I have for you When we’re talking about this, i know personally, for years I wrestled with this in my heart because I personally wanted to be right. I wanted to be pure before the Lord. I didn’t want to be right. I want to be righteous, right. I want to be pure before the Lord. I wanted to walk out, whatever his calling was, and I grew up in one of those backgrounds And so I wrestled through those things And I think a lot of women and men both wrestled through them.

What is your response to a woman, or even her husband, that’s sitting there right now and says you know, i hear what you’re saying, jamie, but help us to get past this religious stronghold in our minds, because I really want to launch my wife or I want to launch out, but these things are screaming in my face and every time I step out, it seems like those stones are getting hurled at me. How do you respond to that? Those that are actually hungry because, yes, a lot are just wanting to have an argument, a lot are just wanting to throw stones. But what do you say to those who are like I really am just trying to find the truth. I know who God is, i know his character, i know the word, but I just seem to keep hitting this wall.

0:12:40 – Jaime Morgan
Yeah, that’s good. I would say that we have to have when we’re studying the word of God on any topic. We have to have the discernment to be able to distinguish between a universal principle in the word of God versus a specific situation that needed to be corrected at that time in the scripture. So this, for example, the scriptures that I made reference to in 1 Corinthians and 1 Timothy. They are scriptures that say you know, women should be quiet, women shouldn’t teach. You know women, you know, just ask your husbands the questions, et cetera.

That was a specific situation that went on at a specific church and it wasn’t a universal principle. That would be like me. Let me give you this analogy I walk into my local church on Sunday morning and I stopped at the convenience store. I have a cup of coffee in my hand and I sit down and I’m clumsily trying to set up Here. I get my Bible and I knock the coffee over and it’s all over the rug, i mean, and after the service the pastor takes me aside and he says, jamie, could you not bring coffee into the sanctuary anymore, because you just left the stain on the rug, like that would be like making a doctrine.

0:14:01 – Tammie Southerland
Like no more coffee, like turning that into a doctrine, yeah.

0:14:04 – Jaime Morgan
Right until Jesus returns, in any church all around the world. Yeah, yeah, it’s taking specific situations that happened in that moment. And it’s interesting, paul the apostle wasn’t in those passages. He wasn’t making women taboo, women in ministry taboo, he was making heresy taboo. He was making disorder taboo. And so we have to have a discernment to say is this a universal principle or was this a specific congregation, a group of women coming in teaching false doctrine, heresy?

that you know, of course false teachers can be men or women and they need to be shut down, and that’s what Paul was doing, And it’s something else that’s interesting. The scripture that says women need to be silent, just silent, just silent in the church, I think about that passage is in 1 Corinthians. In 1 Corinthians as well, there are two other be silent scriptures. Be silent those that speak in tongues and those that prophesy. Now we know that speaking in tongues, and prophecy and all the gifts of the Holy Spirit are for today.

0:15:19 – Tammie Southerland
Right.

0:15:20 – Jaime Morgan
We know that for today. But Paul the apostle was keeping order in the church, Like it’s already been three messages, that’s enough. You know, or you know, and so be silent. in 1 Corinthians was about tongues, prophecy and women, And he was correct, something that was happening in that moment. using so that we can use it as a guide. Do not keep God as a God of order. keep order. And yeah, false teachers had to be shut down, but God. but Paul the Apostle was not shutting down women in ministry, He was shutting down heresy.

0:15:56 – Tammie Southerland
Right, yeah, and even before you know he says that, where we see that be silent scripture, he’s actually encouraging everyone to speak in tongues and everyone to prophesy. Exactly Something that’s often misunderstood is the context of that.

0:16:14 – Jaime Morgan
It’s a context. Taking scripture out of context and making an isolated scripture a specific situation in a specific church at a specific space of time, basing your doctrine upon it. And listen. The enemy, let’s face it, let’s be real in some circles, in some denominations and some churches has been successful at shutting down the women. Yeah, because of these doctrines of demons. You know, really, i mean listen, listen. If I were the devil and I wanted to stop the gospel from being preached, what would I do? I would tell not half, not half. Two thirds. Women comprised two thirds of the church. I would tell the women they can’t preach.

0:17:03 – Tammie Southerland
So there you go.

0:17:04 – Jaime Morgan
Like, there it is.

0:17:06 – Tammie Southerland
That’s good. That’s good In your book actually, I think it’s J Lee Grady’s introduction, and he talks about the women in China and the number. I can’t remember the number you’ll have to remind me. I don’t know. Five thousand a day, I don’t know. You have to remind me of the number, Thousands upon thousands, upon thousands of souls being saved in China and the underground church and the women that are leading the underground church. And J Lee Grady makes the statement while the women in China are underground winning souls, we’re still over here in America, in the West, fighting over whether or not they can speak.

0:17:41 – Jaime Morgan
There it is. Isn’t that the truth? I mean, it’s so true Women I think about, you know, in South Korea. South Korea used to have the largest church in the world and it was. It was women driven. It was women that were released to be self-church pastors or house church pastors. I mean, where women are released to do ministry, you will see revival.

0:18:04 – Tammie Southerland
Yeah, well, that leads me to the next question here. So where we see women in ministry, we see revival. Why do you think that is? I think I know why, but why do you think women are going to birth revival? Like what is it that we carry? that’s so different.

0:18:21 – Jaime Morgan
Yeah, you know, it’s interesting. when I went to Israel I’ve been there twice and I was talking to our tour guide on the last trip and he was, he was teaching about modern-day shepherds, you know, like shepherds that exist today, where they’re actually taking care of sheep and a pasture, and he says he says we have found that women make the best shepherds, he said because they carry their both. he was unsaved. So he said they’re both feisty and loving. They carry a fire, the fire of God, but they also know how to love and show compassion and bind up wounds and the combination, you know, we’ll set the captives free, yeah.

0:19:06 – Tammie Southerland
And I would add this the womb of prayer. Yes, i believe that there is a certain. There’s a certain type of intercession, a groaning intercession And you know this is my topic I love to talk about But there’s a groaning intercession within the womb of a woman of being able to feel and sense and discern and nurture what God is doing in the earth for a particular generation, and that’s a motherhood. I believe it’s a motherhood type of DNA, spiritual DNA that causes our hearts to be gripped with the feelings of God and the longings of God And then thereby looking at children, looking at a generation that is without him, and actually identifying with that kind of travail, like a woman in labor. And I think those things all work together. And I just I throw that out there because you talk about prayer in your book and you believe so strongly in a woman who’s called an ministry. Honestly, anybody I know we’re targeting women right now developing this prayer life. Yeah, why is that prayer life so important?

0:20:21 – Jaime Morgan
Yeah, it’s so important because and I tell women, that’s your first step, you want to take a first step to ministry. It’s your individual prayer life and asking those around you about forming an intercessory prayer shield. It’s important because it’s prayer is the immune system of the body of Christ, it’s the immune system of our ministry, it’s the immune system of our lives. And so when we know in the natural, when someone has a strong, robust immune system, they can stave off disease before they even have symptom one. That bad cell or that virus or you know whatever bad bacteria can just be eradicated before you even know. You didn’t even know you’re sick. But when our immune system is weak, we can get everything that comes along the pike, things that we wouldn’t normally be open to. We are open to everything And that I liken the immune system of the human body to the intercessory prayer system of your life, your minister, your family, your church. So that is step one for any woman that feels that she has a call of God on her life. And I want to just add to that that the Lord spoke to me a couple of years before I was in the ministry, before he launched me, i should say, through a prophet.

A prophet came to my church and she said Jamie, she said God is getting ready to launch you and you need to ask him for intercessors. And I was like, ok, ok, i was kind of a new revelation to me, back all those decades ago. And so I said God, i don’t even know who to ask, but I ask you that you would, you know, start with one person. And you would, you would, you would speak to her heart. And a couple of weeks later, in in church, this woman named Joanne walks up to me and she said God, he encountered me in a dream And in the dream he said Jamie, morgan, is your prayer assignment until you take your last breath? And it was like it’s even God speaks it, there’s no getting around it. Like, yes, god sometimes has us approach people, and that’s of him as well. But he literally started and now I have a intercessory prayer team. She is now my lead intercessor, but now she trains intercessors to pray for me in my ministry.

0:22:42 – Tammie Southerland
Yeah, that’s, that is such a blessing. And, jamie, you’ve become that for me. I’m honored, i am honored, i am honored.

0:22:51 – Jaime Morgan
I am honored.

0:22:52 – Tammie Southerland
I am so thankful for that. I will tell you, this lady decided that she was going to take me on as a prayer assignment because she saw how bad I needed it, and it is such a blessing. And so, guys, it’s both and it’s. You have to develop your own prayer life, like you have to become one who sits with him in the heavenly realms. You aren’t going to minister to anybody if you’re not ministering to God. What are you going to do?

Like and Jamie, i think this is one of the fallacies of ministry across the board is we get excited and we think, oh, god’s called me to ministry, you want to get in front of people, but we’ve not really allowed the knowledge of God to get into our own DNA.

And and as I’m just like speaking right now, but those that are watching, those that are listening, this message, this podcast, is for you guys, the burning messengers. God’s raising you up as a voice, but I can’t ever emphasize enough how important it is that you live in love with him, love sick for him, getting your revelation that you’re delivering to others in your bones first before you release it to anybody else, because it’s for you. And that’s so important, jamie, as people begin to step out and, as God is like raising up these places that you said you saw the space holders in the harvest field. How would you encourage them? right now? I just want you to take a few minutes to to really just speak to the audience, to pray for them, to encourage them to share prophetically even anything that’s on your heart.

0:24:28 – Jaime Morgan
Yeah, I would love to, first of all, ladies and men who are called of the Lord, i encourage you to rip off the rearview mirror of your past. I hear so many say, oh, but God can’t use me, i feel so unworthy. All these excuses. We all have a past and we’re all. We all. We all needed the. We all needed Jesus to save us from our sins. And so rip off that rearview mirror and focus on the worth of Jesus. Yeah, see, if we’re walking around saying I’m so unworthy, we don’t have a revelation of the worth of Jesus And our eyes are on ourselves and not on him. And so camp out in scriptures that talk about the worth of Jesus. Let that revelation renew your mind with that, with those scriptures, and let it become a deep heart revelation. And I want to say that so many women and men but I’m going to speak to women right now are on the sidelines. I just see some women on the sidelines of letting distractions get in the way of what you know. You already know what God has called you to do, but this comes up and that comes up and you feel like you’re on a hamster wheel, the hamster wheel of life, and you’re in survival mode. And the Lord is saying to you take a good look at the people you’ve surrounded yourself with which is, by the way, very huge And also the things you’re allowing in your life to cause distractions from God’s ultimate purpose, because I live my life from a place of no regret. Now, i’m going to have plenty of them. I mean, we all are, we’re going to have regrets, but I try to live my life from a place of having as few as possible, and the biggest, biggest, biggest regret of all for me would be to graduate to heaven and have Jesus say did you reach the people I’ve called you to reach? Did you pray the prayers I’ve called you to pray? Did you say the things I’ve called you to say? Did you go to places I’ve called you to go to? And then I pull one excuse out of my back pocket after the next as to why I didn’t. Well, i was too afraid, jesus. I died for that. Well, Jesus, i didn’t have the money. I died for that. Well, jesus, i was too depressed, i couldn’t get out of bed. I died for that. Well, jesus, it doesn’t matter what excuses. And so I want to say to every woman listening and watching rise up, rise up from the sidelines of apathy, rise up from the sidelines of offense, rise up from the injured players list, rise up from the place of woundedness, rise up from the place of fear and the place of depression.

There is a old songwriter, years ago, keith Green, and he had this in his song. He said Jesus rose from the dead and you can’t even get out of bed. Rise up, rise up, rise up. Either we believe in the resurrection of Jesus or we don’t. Either we believe God is Jehovah Jireh or we don’t. Either we believe he’s Jehovah Rafa or we don’t, or Jehovah Nisi or we don’t.

And so rise up, woman of God, and begin to walk in what you might kind of sort of think, perhaps that God has called you to do, and, as you do, listen a rock that is rolling is easier to navigate than a boulder that’s stationary. You will never find your call or walk in the fullness of your call, sitting on your couch with a remote control in one hand, a tub of popcorn in the other, binge watching Netflix, even if you’re seeking Jesus. Jesus, tell me what I’m called to do, which we should see, jesus, obviously, but until we put our hand to the plow and start doing something and start maybe it’s children’s ministry. I’m not called. My ultimate calling wasn’t to children, but for years I did children’s ministry. Because guess what, tammy? There was some things that those babies in the nursery needed to teach me, like faithfulness. Like when you’re faithful with the little, god will give you much. Like a servant’s heart. Like showing up when you don’t feel like it. Like being just faithfulness. And so rise up, women of God.

0:28:51 – Tammie Southerland
Wow, that is so good. I love everything you just said. I felt my heart was burning. Guys, i know that if you’re listening, if you’re watching, right now, if you’re staying through this thing with us, you are getting ignited. You are actually getting activated right now, whether you realize it or not, and God is putting His finger on certain things. You’ve had excuses and right now they just got torched. In case you didn’t realize it, your excuses just got set on fire And it’s beautiful.

And as Jamie was talking, i thought the number one issue that we have is a spirit of religion, and all these arguments and all these stones that are hurled to keep anyone back from doing what God created us to do, and that is to release the Great Commission, to do what He said to do to go into all the world and preach the good news.

The number one hindrance that you have is a spirit of religion, and I think, right now, god wants to deliver you from that, jamie. I think God wants to deliver some people from the spirit of religion that has kept them, kept and kept them bound, and I just declare to you right now that thing is breaking off of your life and clarity is coming to you And all of the trauma associated with religious boxes. Religious confusion is being broken right now and being healed, and I declare to you right now that your ears are going to get you here, your eyes are going to see and you’re going to step into who you are, and it’s not going to be rebellious, because the Holy Spirit doesn’t rebel against Himself. I’ve heard that so many times, jamie, i don’t want to be rebellious. Well, holy Spirit doesn’t rebel against Himself.

0:30:22 – Tammie Southerland
Yes.

Live a lifestyle of prayer and in the word and you’re going to align with Him. Stop being afraid and step out of the boat and be who He’s called you to be. And I also want to say this it doesn’t necessarily have to look like a platform. It can be you being in the business realm. It could be you being at home with your kids. It could be it takes different phases and different seasons throughout your life. Being in ministry looks like being in Him and letting Him flow through you.

0:30:52 – Jaime Morgan
Yes, amen, amen, amen.

Join me on a journey of revelation and renewal, as we delve into Ezekiel, chapter 10, an exploration filled with divine imagery and profound lessons. You’ll gain a deeper understanding of this enigmatic chapter as we unveil the meaning behind the departure of God’s glory from the temple, the appearance of the man clothed in linen (Jesus), and the release of the altar’s coals to purify. We’ll also take you through a celestial tour featuring angels, whirling wheels, and fire, and a stop at the East gate where the cherubim stand still, and the Lord’s glory ascends.

Throughout this journey, we never lose sight of the real-world meaning of these revelations, discussing the importance of anchoring our identity in Jesus, not in our careers or platforms. We’ll share how faith can be a beacon in these trying times and how prayer can empower and comfort us. If you need prayer or reassurance, remember that we are here for you, ready to lend an ear and a comforting voice. Let’s embark on this enlightening journey together, as we unpack the prophetic, powerful, and pure message from this throne room revelation.

Where to dive in:

(0:00:01) – Revival and the Removal of Idols (16 Minutes)

Ezekiel, chapter 10 reveals what happens when God’s glory departs from the temple. The man clothed in linen, which is Jesus, releases the coals of the altar to bring purification. The angels, the whirling wheels and the fire are all present. The cherubim stand still at the entrance of the East gate, at the Lord’s house, and the glory of the Lord goes up from the cherubim.

(0:16:13) – Identity in Jesus, Not Platforms/Careers (1 Minutes)

We emphasize the significance of staying devoted to our faith in the Lord. We discuss the necessity of discovering our identity in Jesus and how prayer can provide solace and power. We also urge our listeners to contact us if they require prayer and assurance that we are here for them.

Are you willing? Are you willing to lay down your idols and raise up a generation? in truth, you see, in this season he’s going to remove everything that hinders everything that hinders everything that we’re idolizing. If you believe that Jesus is your career, you’re going to find Jesus as the love of your life, or the ground is going to open up, like you did for the core of theites. That’s a whole other word. Judgment, yes, and justice, yes. Glory, yes. But if you look at Romans 8, 18, glory doesn’t come without the suffering. There is no place in the Word of God where you find that people are not experiencing trial before the glory. And if you look at this in Ezekiel, chapter 10, you would think that glory is all over the temple, that glory is departing the temple in order to drive his people back to himself, cause repentance and bring a generation out of the clenches of Satan. Welcome to Burning Messengers hosted by Tammy Sutherland. Stay tuned for a prophetic, powerful and pure message of throne room revelation.

I’ve been in a series of encounters with the Lord over the past probably three to four days. I don’t typically talk about these in the open unless the Lord has actually told me to speak about these publicly. 90% of what the Lord speaks to me is intimacy, it’s prayer. It may come out in a message somewhere in bits and pieces, but I don’t typically say this is the encounter I had and I’m going to tell you that encounter. It’s not about the encounter, but I woke up two mornings ago hearing five super loud knocks on the door. It was super loud in the spirit. I did not know that it was in the spirit Initially.

I was in a deep sleep and I woke up straight out of my bed and I literally said to the Lord unless somebody’s dying, i am not getting up. That was my response. I’m just being real. I was tired, didn’t want to get up, goes off to sleep for a couple more seconds and I heard the Lord say get up. I checked my phone and several messages from different friends going through major situations. Someone was dying, so get up. And I began to pray.

And the Lord takes me to the book of Ezekiel, where the glory departs from the temple. I recently released a message about the shaking that is coming and it’s specifically was talking about the next two to three months. The Lord’s begun to speak to me about the next two to three years. We’re entering into a season of true shaking, and I say this with all fear and trembling. If you look at Ezekiel, chapter 10, the glory departs from the temple. Without reading it all to you want to explain to you what’s going on here, i’ll read some, it says.

Then I looked and behold, the expanse was over the heads of the cherubim, something like a sapphire stone and the appearance of a resembling a throne Appeared above them. and he spoke to the man clothed in linen and said enter between the whirling wheels under the cherubim and fill your hands with coals and fire And between the cherubim and scatter them over the city. He entered my sight. Now the cherubim was standing on the right side of the temple with the man entered in the cloud field. The inner corpse, the glory of the Lord, went up from the cherubim to the threshold of the temple and the temple was filled with a cloud and the court was filled with the brightness of the glory, the Lord. Moreover, the sounds of the wings of the cherubim were heard as far as the outer court, with the voice of the Almighty when he speaks. And he commanded about he, and it came about when he commanded the man clothed in linen saying take the fire from between the whirling wheels and between the cherubim And he stood beside a wheel And the cherubim stretched out his hand between the cherubim and the fire which was between the cherubim, and took some and put into the hands of the one clothed in linen and took it out and went out. The cherubim appeared to have the form of a man’s hand under the wings.

I’m gonna pause right there. What I just read to you sounds like revival. What I just read to you sounds like the angelic host of heaven have come to visit the temple. But as we continue to read, we see that this visitation, where the glory comes and the sound of the wings of the cherubim can be heard all the way into the outer courts, is an encounter of the Lord coming to retrieve himself, to remove his glory from the temple. You see, the concern is as the Lord took me here and I read into chapter 10 and chapter 11, is that we would believe that we fully entered into revival, the.

Can you imagine the power, the presence of the Lord that was tangible in the temple? This is the man clothed in linen. That is Jesus, yeshua himself. The coals of the altar are being released to bring purification. We’re asking for the fire of God to come and purify The angels. Show up the whirling wheel. When whirling wheels, the fire, the creatures have shown up.

But as we continue to read, it says in verse 18, then the glory of the Lord departed from the threshold of the temple and stood over the cherubim. And when the cherubim departed and lifted up their wings and rose up from the earth, in my sight the wheels beside them, they stood still at the entrance of the East gate, at the Lord’s house, and the glory of the Lord, the God of Israel, hovered over them. And he begins to explain more of what they look like. You see, this is the chariots of fire. It says that these cherubim carried the presence of God himself In all of this manifestation. You and I would have thought this is it, this is what we prayed for, this is what we crapped out for. He’s moving, he’s pouring out a spirit, he’s releasing the colds, the purity, but what he was doing was removing his glory. Why am I telling you this? Because if we continue to read in chapter 11, it says that the evil doers will be judged, and that he’s actually doing it in order to restore Israel to our homeland, his people. He’s calling them back to himself. He’s calling them out of their idolatry.

If you continue to read in Zinquil, some of the things that were taking place was idolatry. They were sacrificing their children, they were taking on the gods of the land. They had rebelled and actually broken their covenant with Yahweh. But there was always, always a remnant. And as I began to read this, hearing the knock at the door telling the Lord, i don’t want to get up unless someone’s dying The true power of God came upon me.

He began to speak to me. He said I want my children back. I am going after generation Z and generation Alpha. I want my children back, no longer. Well, i stand by and allow this generation to be defiled by the evil of Satan and by their own fathers. See, beloved, we have an issue right now. Children are being defiled. Men are no longer rising up in the power and the authority of the Lord to protect children for sex trafficking, children for being brainwashed into thinking that they’re a different gender from from actual defilement of their bodies.

We’ve pursed our lips, closed in the church, many, and are afraid to speak out. We’ve taken on the idols of the length. And I heard the Lord say I’m drawing my ministers back to myself and I will remove my glory from the system in order to cause us to follow him back to the place at which we were called to be, and that is in his temple. We are to be the temple of the Lord, the presence of God and the light in the darkness, the voice of truth, and the Lord is saying no more. I’m calling my ministers back to myself. Over the next two to three years, we’re going to find ourselves in shaking And I want to tell you you can mark my words on this It does not matter who’s elected in the next elections. The shaking will continue. We can no longer idolize the system of our land or the system of that we created and called religion. We must return to the Lord, fasting and weeping, but also rejoicing. In the place at which we sit, we have full access to the blood of the lamb and the word of his testimony. If we don’t suffer with the lamb, we’ll never roar like the lion in the earth.

Many of you felt like you’ve been overlooked and not seen, but you’ve had to deal with that pain And you’re coming to a place right now where you’re beginning to realize that the system is not where you belong to any way. It was in his presence, it was in his glory. It was with the word in your mouth. You couldn’t use you in your pride, in your arrogance, you couldn’t use you longing for a platform and longing to be known. You can only use you from the place of humility that you would open your mouth and speak the truth in the hour at which it’s not received.

You see, god’s calling us a raised generation that’s willing to lay down their lives, and the enemy’s trying to get them to lay down their bodies. But God is calling them to lay down their lives for the cause of Christ, for a greater reward. Are you willing? Are you willing to lay down your idols and raise up a generation in truth? You see, in the season he’s going to remove everything that hinders Everything, that hinders everything that we’re idolizing. If you believe that Jesus is your career, you’re going to find Jesus as the love of your life, or the ground is going to open up, like you did for the Corethites. That’s a whole other word Judgment, yes, and justice, yes. Glory, yes.

But if you look at Romans 8.18, glory doesn’t come without the suffering. There is no place in the Word of God, where you find that people are not experiencing trial before the glory. And if you look at this in Ezekiel, chapter 10, you would think that glory is all over the temple, that glory is departing the temple in order to drive his people back to himself, cause repentance and bring a generation out of the clenches of Satan. This is an invitation You get to have an opportunity to abide in him and he and you You are not of this world. Are you willing? Are you willing to come out from among them and be separate and be a solution to this problem? You will have to open your mouth in such a way that can cost you your life, but are we going to continue to sacrifice our children? Are we going to continue?

it says in Ezekiel that they pass their sons, their firstborn sons, through the fire. The Lord said no more. He’s calling us out And everything that can be shaken will be shaken and there will be laws placed in our land that will come against the truth of the Word of God. It says they’re already using AI to rewrite the Bible. Do you understand that that means that you will not be able to have an actual, true Word of God any longer? You better hang on to the word. You better have paper bibles in your house. If you’re finding your identity in a platform, social media, whatever it is you better buckle your seat belt. All these things are things and they’re going to pass away.

I tell him he’s coming for his pride and he wants us bold. Bold as lions, and meek and homeless doves. The compassion of the Lord will bring healing in this land. We better get ready, because there’s an entire generation that is so confused. Do you know that the suicide rates of Gen Z is off the charts? There’s an entire generation that needs to know their identity is in Christ alone.

Restoration is here. It’s at our fingertips. It’s coming with a cost. The glory of the Lord will settle on his people. He will not honor a system. I love our nation and I pray for restoration of our nation. I love Jesus more. Do you love Jesus? You pledge your allegiance to Jesus. You’re the Lamb of God who is slain before the foundation of the earth. Are you willing to be a rescue mission for this generation, even if it cost you your platform, your life? Buckle your seatbelt. I’m going to continue to teach more on how to abide in the place of rest, in the place of glory where he moves.

Listen, he told me that this season he is going to speak to his people. He’s not speaking to the storms, he’s speaking to his people. He’s giving his people the power, like he did Elijah, to speak and cause things to shake, move. Elijah was a man, a man like us. He prayed for the rain, and the rain came. He prayed for the heavens to shut. They shut. I’m telling you that kind of spirit and power of Elijah is coming, but not without consecration, holiness, purity, longing for him, loving him, seated with him and willing to be a true witness that lays down our lives. I’m not standing for it anymore. I love this generation. I love these kids. I will not own my watch. Will they be sacrificed to the agenda of Satan and the Antichrist? We’re to make us ready, make us bold as lions, but I make us humble, prepare our hearts, help us to open our hands and not hold tightly anything that you. I love you. Thank you so much for joining me.

This has been a prophetic alert with Tammy Sutherland Burning Messengers podcast. Let me pray for you before I close this thing out. Right now, i’ll come against any confusion, any fear, any terror. Fear is not of the Lord. The perfect love drives out all fear, for fear has to do with punishment. So I rebuke the spirit of fear and terror right now. In the name of Jesus, i just release upon you the power and the love of the Lord. The place of rest that you come up higher and you’re sitting with him in heavenly realms. That’s the word right now. Come up here. Come up here and I will show you what will take place after this. The five knocks on the door is inviting you to come in and sit with him and be an intercessor for this generation. That means also a mouthpiece. So I’ll break that fear off of you right now.

We will not fear the future. We will not fear the future. We will stand firm in our faith before the Lord. We will no longer be weak in our faith, but strong in the Lord And Jesus. I thank you that where we’re weak, you are strong. Where your strength is made perfect in our weakness. And there’s great grace for us in this hour, lord, i pray that beautiful Christian content will continue to go forth. But, lord, we will not find our identity in our platforms. We will not find our identity in our churches. We will not find our identity in you as a career, but we will find our identity of lovers in Jesus’ name. Amen And amen. If you need me, you can comment, you can email me. I’d love to pray for you. Even if we don’t answer emails right away, we are praying for you. We read them. Much love. See you soon.
